Used at home euthanasia service for my 8 year old Frenchton. Bruno left this earth in the care of loving individuals and family. The entire process was handled lovingly and with care. Highly recommend for anyone going through the process.

dr. miller was so incredibly kind to me, my partner, and our sweet (old man) baby lucky. we had to make the decision very quickly to have him cross the rainbow bridge due to end stage heart failure. she did everything possible to make sure everyone was as comfortable as we could be. you can never put a price on that, but all things considered, the services were very affordable for me. i’m so grateful for her and heron’s crossing.

Losing a pet is never easy, and we are so thankful Dr. Ashley was here to help us during this difficult transition. She was so kind and compassionate as she helped our sweet Weebles find peace. If you find yourself in this difficult time, I can't recommend the kind folks at Heron's Crossing enough.

I truly can’t put into words how thankful I am for Heron’s Crossing and the angel that is Dr. Ashley. My sweet Piper got sick very unexpectedly and unfortunately there was nothing else the vet could do to help her and I refused to let my girl go in a scary vets office so after calling many different companies the vet suggested to see if they could come to my house to lay her to rest and getting denied so many times I finally found Heron’s Crossing who graciously agreed to come out despite being a little out of their travel radius. When Dr. Ashley arrived she allowed my dog Zadie to meet her and check things out so she would feel comfortable with everything that was going on. Dr. Ashely walked me through the whole process before it began and gave me some time to cuddle with Piper before starting the crossing over process. She also talked me through everything during the process and when it was done she clipped some of Piper’s fur and took an imprint of her paw for me to keep then took my girl off in a blanket cover basket. Piper’s remains were but in a beautiful wooden box with flowers carved on it and taken to our vets office for me to pick up. My family was out of town during this whole process so I was so thankful to have Dr. Ashley and Heron’s Crossing to help me through this so I didn’t feel so alone.

I’ve never put a pet to sleep before but when it became clear that it was time for my sweet FeLV positive kitty, I knew I needed to do it at home where we both felt safe and comfortable. There are several places around the city that do this but I chose Heron’s Crossing partly because they had prices listed and partly because I just really liked what I read about the vets on their website. I called on a Saturday morning and the woman who answered the phone was so kind and patient despite my tears as I was telling her about my situation. They were able to come that very afternoon. Dr. James was wonderful. His demeanor was so peaceful and his “howdy” greeting made me smile despite the circumstances. He showed a real interest in Phyllis’ life story, and he’d definitely talked with the woman who set our appointment because I didn’t have to explain everything all over again which was so nice. He explained the process thoroughly and communicated everything that was happening. The experience was heartbreaking, but it felt so peaceful and respectful of my love for my cat. This is truly top notch, full service care from beginning to end. It was so nice that they were able to handle the aftercare so I was able to take time to grieve instead of dealing with logistics. I am so grateful that I was able to give this experience to my beloved Phyllis. I couldn’t heal her, but I was able to make her final moments full of love and comfort. Thank you for being there for us.

Heron's Crossing was wonderful! Our dog collapsed suddenly. Heron's Crossing arranged a same-day appointment, and the vet even rearranged his day to come to our house earlier than scheduled. Everyone from the receptionist to the doctor was friendly, professional, and compassionate. I highly recommend Heron's Crossing.

I can’t express how thankful we are to have found Heron’s Crossing to help our sweet Mia transition peacefully from the comfort of home. While this was by far the most difficult appointment we’ve had to make, we’ll always cherish the respect and peace that filled her last hour on earth. James has a special gift for bringing calm and comfort to the families from the moment he walks in to the moment he leaves with your loved one. We’re so grateful.

I lost my 14 yo cat today. I just moved to Atlanta and was not familiar with any vets. Luckily, through good friends, Chloe and I landed in the care of Dr. David. I just have not enough words to express how wonderful he was. The time he took, the care he showed. It was incredible. He made such a horrific time peaceful for me and for her and for that I am forever grateful.

I want to start by saying that I swear we were greeted by an Angel (Dr. Lauren) when she arrived at our door on the most difficult day of our lives. Her presence was true light and compassion from the moment she arrived to the moment she drove off with our sweet boy’s body for cremation. She sat with us as she knew we were struggling with this decision, asked questions about his condition, answered all of our questions calmly and helped us understand that he was ready. Though in my heart I know our sweet boy would’ve stayed by our side forever in pain just to be close to us, she helped us understand that what we were doing (though hating it and are still utterly heartbroken 💔) was the most compassionate thing we could’ve done for him - Thank you Dr. Lauren! 💖 And thank you Laren G. for being so patient with me during my mutilple calls of indecision. I prayed for a long time that when the time came for him to pass, that it would be as peaceful and loving as he deserved and you assisted in making that happen for him. 🤍✨💙 May you run free again my sweetest Angel 😇 Mama, Papa and broders love you more than words can ever express. Until we meet again 💚

I highly recommend Herons Crossing. They were there for me during one of the hardest times in my life. My 4 lb baby girl got cancer and spread to her lungs. My vet recommended Herons Crossing, which I am so thankful for. They were so kind and loving. The vet who showed up at my house was compassionate and patient as I prepared myself for her transition. She let me hold her the entire time and it was the most peaceful moment I had witnessed in a long time. She walked me through every step and what to expect. She was patient and kind. When she took her away she wrapped her up in blanket and carried her away in a basket. I knew she was in good hands. I'm so thankful for Herons Crossing and the service they provide. I hig

From the first time I reached out to Herons Crossing via email - to the inevitable passing of our sweet girl, everyone I encountered and spoke to (and emailed with) we’re so comforting, so nice, and made this painful process easy. We chose the in “office” option- as we couldn’t do this at home, but yet did not want a bright sterile vet environment either. They allowed for our other dog to come say goodbye too. Dr Lauren was the most kind, compassionate human I’ve ever met, with such a sweet demeanor. During such a hard hard process, she made us feel comfortable and gave us however much time we needed. I can’t imagine having to do this on our own, or having to take her little body somewhere on our own. Herons crossing does it all for you, which made it more peaceful and less stressful. Dr Lauren is a gift from God. Our Molly was 14 yrs old and suffering from extreme Alzheimer’s/Dementia that was just progressively getting worse. She could no longer be a dog. It was still the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do and will never forget the 12 yrs I’ve had with her. Dr Lauren knew she was a special girl. She also gave us a clay footprint which was a nice touch. Thank you Dr Lauren, my husband and I will be forever grateful for the peaceful passing you gave our Molly Mae. ❤️

Deciding to let go of my dog was one of the most devastating things I’ve had to do. For me it was worse, because he didn’t have a terminal illness or a timeline I was working against, I just saw that in his age he was no longer enjoying being a dog like he used to. I agonized over the decision, and I know that was probably clear to the patient staff at Herons Crossing who kindly answered all my questions in emails leading up to decision day. When the day came, the vet who came out was sympathetic and gave me all the time I needed to say my goodbyes. She was comforting and reassured me about the decision I was making based on her assessment of his health. I could never say I had a good experience with these circumstances, but Herons Crossing gave me the best experience I could have. I highly recommend if you have to make a call for your family as well.

Dr. Lauren Cassady was patient, compassionate, and tender with the passing of our sweet girl. Thank you! These simple words feel inadequate to express our profound gratitude in helping our household feel at peace with our decision to allow our pup to pass into the beyond with grace in the same way she lived in life. Dr. Lauren stepped through our doorway and into our lives at a difficult time as we had been watching our sweet dog suffer for several weeks following a series of stokes and our household was experiencing the complex emotions of grief. She sat with us on the floor as we witnessed the awe, wonder, and curiosity not only unique in birth but also in death and I now feel like Heron's Crossing is part of our family.

When our beloved Golden Retriever, Peluche, took a sudden (but not unexpected) turn for the worse, we knew we had to have him put to sleep as soon as possible. We made the decision on a Friday night, and found an animal hospital just blocks away that was open on Saturday. We stayed up all night with him, comforting him as best we could and letting him know just how much we loved and appreciated him. When I called the hospital at 8am, they said they didn't have any space available that day. Thank goodness they provided me with the phone number for Heron's Crossing for in-home euthanasia. I called and the consultant couldn't have been more professional and empathetic. We secured an 11am appointment with Dr. Lauren. She arrived on time and was soooooo sweet and understanding. She explained the process and possibilities of somewhat negative reaction Peluche may have to the anesthesia (as he had been vomiting a few time during the night). After saying goodbye to our dear friend and companion, we gave him peace and comfort. There was no drama or negative reactions, he simply fell asleep knowing we were there by his side. After a couple of minutes had passed, we assisted Dr. Lauren in placing Peluche on a stretcher, giving him his favorite toy, and covering him for his ride to the crematorium (they provided his ashes and returned the favorite toy to us later). We served as pall bearers and walked to her van, carrying the stretcher with the worn out body of our friend, knowing his was again healthy and happy, and that his spirit was still connected to us. When faced with the option of loading our sick dog into our car ourselves, a very uncomfortable process for Peluche. Taking him to the hospital where noise and strangers and bright lights and other animals would have been extremely traumatic for both Peluche and us. The in-home option offered privacy, comfort, familiar surroundings and personalized service. I cannot praise the team that took care of us and Peluche enough. When you are faced with this painful task, make it easy on your and your pet, contact Heron's Crossing.

Impossible to express how grateful my family is for their service, their professionalism, their compassion. Just wonderful people. Remaining in our home was very important to us. Dr. Lauren Cassidy did our consultation; she was so patient and kind. Dr. Shannon performed the euthanasia; also so sweet and caring. Given the situation, the event itself was as peaceful & loving as I could have hoped. I also greatly appreciated the communication from Heron's Crossing, and the ability to handle details via email & web forms. I fully recommend Heron's Crossing should you find yourself in need of an objective opinion / consultation, or end of life care.

I had to put my 18yo cat down today. The staff at HC took all the info about my location (which can be difficult to find) and made sure Dr. Payne had everything. My appointment was the following afternoon. She called when she was on her way, was exactly on time. Dr. Payne was compassionate and kind while being extremely professional. We chatted for a few minutes (to put me at ease I'm sure), answered my few questions, and explained the procedure (every step of the way). We took care of business. It was very quick - the cat was sedated within a minute from the first injection, and after the 'overdose' was administered he was deceased in less than another minute (Dr. Payne verified, checked his heartbeat). It really s*cks putting down a long time pet, but they made it as "painless" as possible.
